Day 2 - Wednesday 11, January 2023: Lima, Cusco

Departure to Cusco (counters are just a few steps from the hotel). On arrival, meet and greet at the airport, transfer to your hotel.
In the afternoon, you'll tour Cusco's largest open market and the adjacent witches' market. After tasting a few unique local foods, you will visit the Center for Traditional Textiles in Cusco, a local organization committed to preserving the region's weaving traditions.

Day 3 - Thursday 12, January 2023: Cusco, Sacred Valley

Let’s visit the most outstanding sites of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our first stop will be the majestic Inca site of Pisac, an archaeological complex located in the high part of the town of the same name. This place has beautiful agricultural terraces. The ascend by well-preserved temples, including a solar clock or
Intiwatana, will offer us a breathtaking scenery. We will continue to Moray, beautiful and curious Inca archaeological complex composed of colossal concentric terraces simulating a large amphitheater. In Incas times, it served as an agricultural laboratory where diverse microclimates were recreated. Later, we will follow our way to the community of Maras, famous for its salt mines. The beauty of its more than 3000 pools contrasts with the majesty of the Valley. Lunch at one of the restaurants in the area. Afterwards, drop off at
your hotel.

Day 4 - Friday 13, January 2023: Sacred Valley, Aguas Calientes.

In the morning, we will visit the city of Ollantaytambo, a space where the design of the archaeological complex merges with the current city. This district of the province of Urubamba is reached by the asphalt road Chinchero - Urubamba, and also by railroad (68 km). The archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo was
a strategic military, religious and agricultural center. The architectural scene is of exceptional interest for the
size, style and originality of its buildings.  Then board the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (10:32-12:11). On arrival, we will board the bus to go up the winding road to Machu Picchu, amid a spectacular view of the Urubamba River and its canyon. The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will astonish us with its terraces, ceremonial shrines, steps and urban areas. Energy is all around us. Afterwards, back to the town.

Day 5 - Saturday 14, January 2023: Mapi, Cusco, Valle Sagrado

Entrance fee to Machu Picchu and shuttle bus included (for your second visit by your own).
*You can also choose to book a permit to climb the sacred peak of Huayna Picchu (a combined ticket), hike to the Sun Gate which overlooks the ruins or take a walk through the lush cloudforest to the Temple of the Moon (it would be a surcharge of USD 17 net per person) At the arranged time, we will return to Ollantaytambo station by train and will be transferred to the hotel.

Day 6 - Sunday 15, January 2023: Cusco

OPTIONAL - HALF DAY - TOUR OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES NEAR CUSCO (PVT)
You will leave your hotel to visit the most outstanding archeological sites near the city of Cusco. You will start with Sacsayhuaman, an Inca construction that stands out for its huge carved stone walls and for having a broad view of the city of Cusco. It will continue with a visit to Puca-Pucará, a place that would have served as a “tambo” or resting place and accommodation for the Inca. Later, you will visit the archaeological site of Tambomachay, a place that would have had an important religious function during the time. Finally, you will visit Kenko, an archeological site where the Sun, Moon and
Stars were celebrated. Finally, you will return to your hotel.
Duration: 4 hours approximately


OPTIONAL - HALF DAY - CITY TOUR OF CUSCO (PVT)
You will visit the city of Cusco, known also as the Imperial City and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You will start with a stop at the San Cristobal viewpoint, from where you will have a privileged view of the city. Then, you will visit the San Pedro market, a very picturesque place located in the heart of the city. Afterwards, you will visit the Koricancha temple, an ancient Inca palace and cult center of the Sun god, on which the order of the Dominicans built a church, which remains standing to this day. You will then visit the San Blas neighborhood, a place full of Cusco artists and artisans. Finally,
you will visit the Cathedral, the most important temple in the city.
Duration: 4 hours approximately

 

OPTONAL - HALF DAY KAYAK or STAND UP PADDLE with SNACK (PVT).
You will be picked up from your hotel for the trip to Lake Piuray, where your day of sports and adventure begins. First, choose between stand-up paddle or kayak. Then you will be given a safety talk and practice paddling techniques on dry land. Once on the water you will get to know your board before the activities begin. While you are on the lake you can appreciate the area's spectacular scenery. At the end of your water borne experience, enjoy a snack in the open air surrounded by natural beauty.

OPTIONAL - HALF DAY - MOUNTAIN BIKE / TOUR AROUND ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES NEAR CUSCO (PVT)
Climb 400 meters of a rock face with via ferrata, metal steps and a life line that assures you 100% of the time. One hour climbing aprox. Enjoy a box lunch at the highest point of the circuit and descend ziplining 6 cables from 700
meters to 250 mts, for a 2400 meters total.

OPTIONAL - HUCHUYQOSQO FULL DAY HIKE (PVT)
We will leave Cusco at 6:30am in a private transport toward Chinchero to then will follow on to Tauca, the starting point of the trek. We start hiking uphill amidst beautiful mountain scenery with presence of llamas and alpacas until we get to the only mountain pass at 4500, at the top we will enjoy of magnificent view of the Mountain ranges of Cusco then We
will descend for an approximated 2 hours, to reach Huchuy Qosqo, Inca archaeological complex. Along the route we will take the box lunch. Huchuy Qosqo that means Small Cusco has an imposing architecture that includes a large open ceremonial center, from which we will enjoy a panoramic view of the Sacred Valley, the Vilcanota River and some snowcapped mountains like Pitusiray and Sawasiray. While in the complex, we will receive a guided tour, after which we will continue our way to Lamay at 3000m arriving at 4:30 approximately. Lamay is a town dedicated to agriculture and cattle rising. Later in the afternoon, the private transport will drive us back to the hotel in Cusco, Sacred Valley of the Incas or Ollantaytambo train station to aboard the train to Machu Picchu town.

OPTIONAL - RIVER RAFTING - OLLANTAYTAMBO SECTION - FULL DAY (PVT)
At 8:30 am. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel (Cusco) and drive you through the mountains towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas until we reach our private river put-in located in Pachar. Here you will receive your rafting equipment and a safety briefing. (Toilet facilities are available). After a brief period practicing on the flat parts of the river, we will start our journey on easy waters, while we admire the spectacular view of the mountains and archaeological remains. We will continue towards Ollantaytambo and its amazing Inca terraces, at the time we will experience class 2-3 rapids, to
finish with “El Resbaladero” (The Slide), a strong class 3 rapid that includes waves and small whirlpools. We will then have lunch in a traditional restaurant located on the riverside owned by the local community. This is a great chance to enjoy the Andean cuisine while supporting community projects. Finally, you will return to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 7 - Monday 16, January 2023: Cusco, Lima

At proper hour transfer to airport for your flight to Lima. On arrival, drop off your luggage at the hotel. In the afternoon, your tour begins in downtown Lima, where you will visit the Main Square, where Lima was first founded as "The City of Kings," in 1535, and it was already known by the name of Lima when Peru
proclaimed its independence from the Spanish Crown in 1821. There you may see the Presidential Palace, the Archbishop's Palace, and the Lima Cathedral. Then visit the Aliaga House, a viceregal construction delivered by Francisco Pizarro to one of his captains (Jerónimo de Aliaga) when he founded the city. Next,
visit Saint Francis' Church, which has an enviable collection of old books and an authentic network of catacombs open to the public. Afterwards, head to the Pueblo Libre district to visit the Larco Museum, 
founded by Rafael Larco Hoyle in 1926. The museum, located inside a viceregal mansion built on a pre-
Columbian pyramid, houses the most complete pre-Hispanic collection of gold and silver artifacts as well 
pieces of erotic art.
Afterwards, back to the hotel for check-in, located inside the airport.
