HALF DAY CUSCO VISITING SAN PEDRO MARKET AND CENTER OF TRADITIONAL TEXTILES IN CUSCO (PVT)
You will visit the city of Cusco, known as the Imperial City and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Here you will start your tour at the iconic San Pedro market, a local market where you can explore the colors, flavors and traditions of modern Cusco. The visit continues with a visit to the Center Of Traditional Textiles In Cusco (CTTC), a non-profit organization that was established in 1996 by Andean weavers and their supporters. The mission of the Center is to aid in the survival of Cusqueñan textile traditions and to provide support to the indigenous people who create them. The Center
works with ten weaving communities in the Cusco region of Peru on a fair-trade basis to help rescue traditions and promote the weavers and their work.

Day 3 - Thursday 13, January 2022: Cusco, Sacred Valley

FULL DAY - PISAC MARKET, MARAS AND MORAY WITH LUNCH (PVT)
A full day excursion to enjoy some highlights in Urubamba, the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It starts by a visit to the colorful market of Pisac, where you can appreciate a blend of color, traditional artcrafts, and local people. Then, the tour goes on 
to Maras, you will enjoy a panoramic visit of these salt mines, which were constructed in the slope of a mountain in Pre-Incan times. Lastly, we will go to the huge agricultural terraces of Moray, built in natural holes in circular form, and used as a botanical lab by the Incas. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

Day 4 - Friday 14, January 2022: Sacred Valley, Aguas Calientes.

Note: Your luggage will be transferred to Cusco selected hotel where you will pick it up during check in time.

 

Note: To prepare for the next few days when you will be in the Machu Picchu we will need to pack an overnight bag tonight.  We require you to pack enough clothes and toiletries for 2 days and 1 night. The rest of your luggage will be stored at Hotel in Cusco where you will pick it up on arrival.


Policy of Luggage on board the train - Allowable passenger carryon bags:   Any luggage not meeting the measurements cannot be taken aboard.

EARLY VISIT TO OLLANTAYTAMBO RUINS (PVT)
You will depart from your hotel in the Sacred Valley towards the town of Ollantaytambo, where you will find the imposing Inca fortress that bears the same name. This place has great historical importance, because it is where Manco Inca defeated the Spanish forces in 1538. You will climb the steep stone steps, from where you will be able to admire the amazing monoliths that form the Temple of the Sun. Finally, you will return to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. Visit Machu Picchu Citadel (with Private local guide) (2hrs 30mins guided tour)
A visit to one of the most important tourist destinations in the world: Machu Picchu. The excursion starts with a train trip to the town of Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo. The natural beauty of the surroundings makes the train the best way to start your visit. When you arrive, you will start the ascent to the ruins, which will without a doubt be one of your most unforgettable experiences. At Machu Picchu you can see one of the Seven Modern Wonders of the World and take some impressive photos.

Day 5 - Saturday 15, January 2022: Mapi, Cusco, Valle Sagrado

You will be able to check out and leave LOCKED bags in hotel storage until you head for the train station. This will allow you to explore the area on your own without carrying your bags with you.
 

Optional - Second visit Machu Picchu (unguided)
After enjoying this masterpiece and exploring it with admiration, you can come back to the next Morning to visit the Machu Picchu archeological complex on your own.
Second entrance to Machu Picchu– does not include guide.

Day 6 - Sunday 16, January 2022: Cusco

OPTIONAL - HALF DAY - TOUR OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES NEAR CUSCO (PVT)
You will leave your hotel to visit the most outstanding archeological sites near the city of Cusco. You will start with Sacsayhuaman, an Inca construction that stands out for its huge carved stone walls and for having a broad view of the city of Cusco. It will continue with a visit to Puca-Pucará, a place that would have served as a “tambo” or resting place and accommodation for the Inca. Later, you will visit the archaeological site of Tambomachay, a place that would have had an important religious function during the time. Finally, you will visit Kenko, an archeological site where the Sun, Moon and
Stars were celebrated. Finally, you will return to your hotel.
Duration: 4 hours approximately


OPTIONAL - HALF DAY - CITY TOUR OF CUSCO (PVT)
You will visit the city of Cusco, known also as the Imperial City and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You will start with a stop at the San Cristobal viewpoint, from where you will have a privileged view of the city. Then, you will visit the San Pedro market, a very picturesque place located in the heart of the city. Afterwards, you will visit the Koricancha temple, an ancient Inca palace and cult center of the Sun god, on which the order of the Dominicans built a church, which remains standing to this day. You will then visit the San Blas neighborhood, a place full of Cusco artists and artisans. Finally,
you will visit the Cathedral, the most important temple in the city.
Duration: 4 hours approximately

 

OPTONAL - HALF DAY KAYAK or STAND UP PADDLE with SNACK (PVT).
You will be picked up from your hotel for the trip to Lake Piuray, where your day of sports and adventure begins. First, choose between stand-up paddle or kayak. Then you will be given a safety talk and practice paddling techniques on dry land. Once on the water you will get to know your board before the activities begin. While you are on the lake you can appreciate the area's spectacular scenery. At the end of your water borne experience, enjoy a snack in the open air surrounded by natural beauty.

OPTIONAL - HALF DAY - MOUNTAIN BIKE / TOUR AROUND ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES NEAR CUSCO (PVT)
Climb 400 meters of a rock face with via ferrata, metal steps and a life line that assures you 100% of the time. One hour climbing aprox. Enjoy a box lunch at the highest point of the circuit and descend ziplining 6 cables from 700
meters to 250 mts, for a 2400 meters total.

OPTIONAL - HUCHUYQOSQO FULL DAY HIKE (PVT)
We will leave Cusco at 6:30am in a private transport toward Chinchero to then will follow on to Tauca, the starting point of the trek. We start hiking uphill amidst beautiful mountain scenery with presence of llamas and alpacas until we get to the only mountain pass at 4500, at the top we will enjoy of magnificent view of the Mountain ranges of Cusco then We
will descend for an approximated 2 hours, to reach Huchuy Qosqo, Inca archaeological complex. Along the route we will take the box lunch. Huchuy Qosqo that means Small Cusco has an imposing architecture that includes a large open ceremonial center, from which we will enjoy a panoramic view of the Sacred Valley, the Vilcanota River and some snowcapped mountains like Pitusiray and Sawasiray. While in the complex, we will receive a guided tour, after which we will continue our way to Lamay at 3000m arriving at 4:30 approximately. Lamay is a town dedicated to agriculture and cattle rising. Later in the afternoon, the private transport will drive us back to the hotel in Cusco, Sacred Valley of the Incas or Ollantaytambo train station to aboard the train to Machu Picchu town.

OPTIONAL - RIVER RAFTING - OLLANTAYTAMBO SECTION - FULL DAY (PVT)
At 8:30 am. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel (Cusco) and drive you through the mountains towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas until we reach our private river put-in located in Pachar. Here you will receive your rafting equipment and a safety briefing. (Toilet facilities are available). After a brief period practicing on the flat parts of the river, we will start our journey on easy waters, while we admire the spectacular view of the mountains and archaeological remains. We will continue towards Ollantaytambo and its amazing Inca terraces, at the time we will experience class 2-3 rapids, to
finish with “El Resbaladero” (The Slide), a strong class 3 rapid that includes waves and small whirlpools. We will then have lunch in a traditional restaurant located on the riverside owned by the local community. This is a great chance to enjoy the Andean cuisine while supporting community projects. Finally, you will return to your hotel in Cusco.

You will visit the colonial part of the city of Lima, "The City of the Kings”. You will head to the Historic Center, where you will visit the historic Convent of Santo Domingo, declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Following, you will visit the stunning Casa de Aliaga, historic house of conqueror Jerónimo de Aliaga, where his descendants still live. Then you will walk to the Plaza Mayor, where you will have the chance to take some pictures of the gorgeous colonial architecture of important buildings that surround it, such as the Government Palace and the Cathedral. Finally, you will be transferred to the Larco Museum, which houses the unsurpassed private collection of treasures from Ancient Peru. This collection
inspires its visitors, making them discover, understand and enjoy the more than five thousand years of Ancient Peru history
through more than 45,000 pieces. At the scheduled time, you will be transferred to the airport to board your departure flight.
